Special Events
I have been asked by Adobe to
get a headcount of our expected attendees on Monday night's event.
Additionally, a headcount will be extremely helpful in helping us
estimate our food needs. I have created a survey with Survey Monkey to
help solve this issue and give us a little information.
Need motivation for filling it in? How about this?
Only people that have filled out the survey will be eligible for winning the FlexBuilder 2 giveaway!!!
(You must be present at the meeting to win)
The
rest of the giveaway items will be available to all attendees, but in
order to win FlexBuilder, I need you to take a minute and fill this out:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=408803757984
Please
note that there is not a good "success" confirmation upon submission,
but rather you will be directed to the Survey Monkey homepage. If you
see this, then your entry was submitted. Additionally, I am limited
to 100 responses. I don't expect more entries than that, but if for
some reason you find the survey closed, please contact me
I will get your information.
Thanks!

Ben Forta visiting the DFWCFUG on April 30, 2007!
Special EventsUPDATE: There is newly updated information regarding sponsors, meeting location and more. Make sure to read this post.
We are happy to announce that we have received confirmation today that Ben Forta will be visiting the Dallas/Ft. Worth ColdFusion User Group on Monday night, April 30 as part of the Scorpio pre-release tour!
Even before the release of the highly successful ColdFusion MX 7 two years ago, the ColdFusion team was already hard at work scheming, experimenting, planning, building, creating ... and the result is "Scorpio", the highly anticipated 8th major ColdFusion edition. Building on top of the powerful platform introduced in ColdFusion MX, and the solid feature set of ColdFusion MX 7, "Scorpio" piles on new features and technologies for developers, administrators, technical decision makers, and more. The official "Scorpio" release is scheduled for mid-2007, but you don't have to wait until then to see it for yourself. Ben Forta will be demoing lots of Scorpio in Dallas on April 30, 2007, where attendees will get to see "Scorpio" in action, as well as gain access to the pre-release beta, and get the chance to win Adobe software. Plan on coming out for this special meeting!!
Come out and win your FREE COPY OF THE NEXT RELEASE OF COLDFUSION!!! That's right! We will be raffling off one copy of the next release among the attendees.

Ben Forta coming to Dallas... *maybe* Your response is important
Special EventsThe DFWCFUG has been asked to try to get a rough headcount of how many people we would expect if we were to have Ben Forta come to Dallas on the pre-Scorpio world tour. Adobe is demanding a pretty high attendance expectation before they will commit any dates on the tour, so I need to report a rough estimate of how many people I could expect to attend. Most of you know any event with Ben is a *must see*. There are some very cool things in store for the next release of ColdFusion, and this would be a very exciting opportunity to get a sneak peak at features. The tentative date that Adobe is proposing is April 30. Please reply if you feel that this is an event that you would come to and I will send in the tally.
